Delivery Update: Winter Weather Conditions

From frigid temperatures to what seems like a perpetual snowstorm to snow banks too large to see around, we all find ourselves facing yet another difficult New England winter.

At Dead River Company, we understand the challenges this winter is presenting our customers. We want to take this opportunity to thank you for your patience and understanding, as well as provide a few tips to customers who call to schedule their deliveries:

  •  If you call to schedule your deliveries, it is recommended that you do so at least one week prior to needing a delivery. We recognize that for some customers this is not your typical experience. Typically, you may call to schedule a delivery for the next day in your area.  With current conditions, our delivery drivers are working 7 days-a-week to ensure we are keeping up with demand. The abundance of snow, challenges accessing fill pipes and tanks, as well as road and driveway conditions are presenting hurdles for even our most seasoned drivers and this in turn is impacting the delivery schedule.
  • If you are not enrolled in our automatic delivery service and require an immediate delivery, an additional fee may be incurred. Our drivers make between 25 and 45 deliveries each day. Their routes are strategically mapped to allow for the most efficient travel and delivery. When an emergency delivery is needed, and we pull a driver off the route to make a single stop it disrupts delivery and creates delays for multiple customers.
  • Please provide access to your fill pipe or propane tank.  Taking the time to clear a path – or have someone help you – will help ensure our driver’s safety and their ability to make your delivery.

Again, we thank you for your patience and understanding and for trusting Dead River Company to keep you warm this winter.
